Description Somehow, they managed to devise a method for eliminating the lateral entropy plaguing our universe. They succeeded in trapping it, redirecting it back towards the "other side" that had been flooding us with it. But the "other side" detected this interference, and what they started channeling back was more than a hundredfold of what we were being sent before. It was theorized that ultimate entropy represents a kind of permanent stasis - when ultimate entropy is achieved, each transformation becomes indistinguishable in its destructiveness from any other. Given the new overwhelming surge of lateral entropy now being violently dumped into our world, we would inevitably approach that threshold imminently, and no kind of intervention could alter our fate. We have entered a war we have no chance of winning.
