  2. Inspired by mathmasterzach, this puzzle simulates an entire 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube.

Each movable sticker on the cube is represented by one crate. The 3 possible turns (which cubers would call U, R, and F) each involve three separate 4-cycles of stickers, represented by loops of track. Those possible turns are each linked to one of the four possible magnet states, and the fourth state is used to open up a path when the cube is solved. Changing the state of the magnets requires lowering the blue switch doors, which requires all crates to be on their home squares in some order.

To ensure that you do the three linked 4-cycles at the same time, there are some door mechanisms where you have to place one box in the 'jail' area, letting you swap the purple doors to move that cycle's crates forward by one. You can only reset the purple doors by, again, lowering all the blue switches.

I think this works, but please let me know if you find a way to break it!

Wow, this is absolutely genius! From what I can tell, there isnt a way to cheat the puzzle or mechanisms, though I can't see myself finding something you didnt :P
Again, absolutely beautiful concept and execution. Kudos for making this, and I'll definitely try and solve it sometime in the future

This is brilliant! I need to toy with my real 2x2x2 a bit more before I attempt a solve on this puzzle. The mechanisms all make sense to me though and I don't see any way to cheat them. Smart move using the jails to enforce real rotations/sticker motions.
