      @Jonathan Handojo: Interesting idea, but you are using an awful lot of extra squares to create this effect. I have made a simplified version of this, using a door and a button. The problem is that it doesn't create a foolproof one-way door, and can therefore be solved with fewer steps than is really intended. A one-square, one-way door could not be manipulated in this way.

      @Jimbim: Well, it's only the left side of the puzzle that you need to think to solve. The right one is simply to follow, and I think a portal is enough to say "one-square", but since you care about steps as well, i guess it can't be helped.

      @Jonathan Handojo: Yes, this puzzle is an excellent simulation of how a one square solution would work.
