  Can you give a general rule or hint or 2 about how to minimize steps in classic puzzles?

    @geometree: It depends on the puzzle, but often, you have to subdivide the journey of each box to its goal in several stages. First at all, you have to realize that each change of direction cost a lot of steps. So if you first lead the box A from home to its goal, then box B, and after box C, etc., you often change direction only for one box at a time, that is very expansive!

    @geometree: So be opportunist and try to take advantage of your current position, your current line, and your changes of direction to pass a stage with the box A, another stage with the boxes B and C, and so on. Organize crossroads where you can push sevral boxes at the same time...

    @Malice: Thx. I am getting better, and I understand at least some of what you say. A rule that helps me in some situations is to look for the easiest way. Just grab the closest box and put it in the closest goal.
